You’ve branded your Totem, selected your mods, and planned your allocations. Now it’s time to deploy. This guide walks you through the launch process and what happens behind the scenes.
Before You Launch
Take a moment to review everything. Once your Totem is deployed, many settings become permanent.
Final Checklist
- Branding - Name, ticker, description, and image are set correctly
- Mods - All selected mods are configured with the right parameters
- Allocations - Token distribution matches your strategy
- Wallet - You’re connected with the wallet you want as the creator
- Gas - You have enough ETH to cover deployment costs
The Review phase shows all your settings in one place. Read through it carefully.
The Launch Sequence
When you hit the launch button, your Totem goes through five stages:
1. Locking In
The system captures your final configuration. Your branding, mod selections, and allocations are packaged together. This is your last chance to cancel without spending gas.
2. Verifying Structural Integrity
Your Totem’s configuration is validated against the protocol’s rules. This checks that:
- Allocations add up correctly
- Mod parameters are within acceptable ranges
- Required fields are filled
- No conflicts exist between selected mods
If validation fails, you’ll see an error explaining what needs to be fixed.
3. Creating Totem
This is where the magic happens. A blockchain transaction is submitted to create your Totem. You’ll need to approve this transaction in your wallet.
The transaction:
- Registers your ticker with the Totems protocol
- Sets your initial parameters
- Establishes you as the creator
Wait for the transaction to confirm.
4. Setting Up Mods
After the core token is deployed, each mod needs to be initialized. If your mods have required actions, you’ll be prompted to sign additional transactions.
Tip
If anything fails, you can go to your Totem’s page and retry the mod setup.
After Launch
Once your Totem awakens, several things happen automatically:
- Your Totem appears on the platform - Anyone can find it, view its details, and interact with its mods
- Allocations are distributed - Tokens go to the wallets and mods you specified
- Mods become active - Users can start minting, trading, or whatever your mods enable
